Location and access to the Hôtel des Pins in Soulac sur Mer
Soulac is a seaside resort which is surrounded by pine forests; it has four fine sandy beaches on the Atlantic Coast, a casino, and tourist and shopping facilities.
You can get to Royan by ferry all year; it is 12km from Soulac. You can also visit Bordeaux, which is situated 86km south west of Soulac.
During the Middle Ages Soulac was an overnight stopping place for pilgrims en route for Saint Jacques de Compostelle. Many stayed at Notre Dame de la Fin des Terres Basilica, now classified by UNESCO as a World Heritage site.
This small town, whose seaside fashion dates back to the 19th century, has seen the birth of a succession of villas built along the ocean, up to Amélie, a small hamlet in the heart of nature 4km south of Soulac.
